I hit the subscribe button again to make sure I would not miss another.

You guys are the best and thank you so much for deciding to drive over to our town.

Lots of history in Missouri. I could talk for hours about it and the area. I should have a button people can push to shut me up:) If your into the Civil War stuff, Missouri was the third most fought after state during the war. President Lincoln was understood to have said "I may not have God on my side, but I must have Missouri." So started the conquest of Missouri, the only state to ever have it's capital sacked and occupied while declaring martial law. One of my great uncles is credited by family with ending the life of the yankee general at Wilson's Creek. Uncle Johnny after the war refused to take his hat off at the dinner table because Missouri surrendered. Notably after General Lee first did out east. But only after the Missouri army moved to Texas to try and rebuild and continue the war. Old saying around here is "G.O.T" meaning Gone to Texas. Because of martial law/Order Number 11, many Missourians ended up populating Texas.

Never new Frank James was buried here. Good to know and I'll have to find his grave with Karen. By the way, there are parts of the country where folks don't believe Jesse was killed and buried here. Wrong - the Medical Examiner's office and county officials dug him up. DNA proves it and according to my uncle who was there at the time, they found a bullet that had been left in his body. His coffin had collapsed but they found some of the old hardware from the original. Think the museum has a display of it.

So good again to have met you guys. It will not be the last time. And we extend an invitation to all your readers to come to town. Better be quick, our date to leave is creeping up. Be safe.

Mark.. I think we have to remedy that soon :-) Beautiful fountains. I always enjoy the small historic homes and cemeteries we find across the country.
