Had to have something to pull the new rig with, right?

We'll be pulling our Montana with a 2013 Dodge 3500HD Laramie Longhorn Dually.  Should definitely do the job!  The truck is in Illinois, so we'll pick it up on the way to get the trailer the first week of May.  It gives us time to practice with each before we head back to California for our son's college graduation.  I hope I'm going to be able to handle that beast.  I've not driven a dually and really didn't want one.  We'll wait a few months and see how fulltiming goes.  Then we'll consider getting a moped or something to zip to the grocery store or around the back roads to sightsee.  I don't look forward to parking that thing.  I sometimes have a difficult time getting our current Megacab in and out of parking spots in our small town.

Aint she purty?!

Well now that we have the 5er and the truck, we can get back to purging the house to get it listed.  Looks like I'll be getting a storage locker to speed up the process.  Too many boxes of stuff stacked everywhere.  At least rooms, cabinets and closets are getting empty!  Now if we can just get my husband's 1930 truck sold!  - Edit: It's SOLD! - Once we get back from the rally we'll sell our current truck and the two cars.  Whoa!  Things are really moving quickly!!!

  1. Congratulations on your new truck. We really like our F-350 Dually. Yes it is a little hard to park sometimes but it's all worth it. Just picked up our Bighorn last weekend in IN and towed it home. Spending the week at a county park near town to get used to it and figure out how everything works. If you happen to pass by Normal, IL give us a shout out. Still purging here too. Curt

  2. How funny! We are picking up our truck in Clinton! We were going to leave the rally Sunday morning (May 4) and drive to the airport in Bloomington to drop off our rental car. Perhaps we can meet up for dinner Sunday?

    1. We got our truck at Anderson Ford in Clinton. Small world for sure especially with you being in CA. Let's see if we can work that out. Email is lowryc50@gmail.com. Curt

    1. Thanks Mark & Patty! I'm sure I'll like the riding park, not sure about the parking part ;-)

  4. Just stumbled across your blog, reminds me of where we were a year ago hoping the house would sell and we could hit the road full time. Congrats on the rig and truck, if you are headed to VT this year let us know we'll be there until the early part of Oct.

  6. Haven't been to any of the VT state parks since we tent camped years ago, the one we went to doubt it would take a large 5th wheel. We stay the summer season in Johnson VT with FHU's, I work at the camp store (Maplewoods campground) and Dave goes to his job of 34 years, since we sold the house we've started taking the winters off. We love the Solitude (369rl) and we just got in in Feb, had a Montana Mountaineer with only 2 slides and 34.5 ft. I put up a follow by email, I usually just check my blogger dashboard to see who's posted. I know I have followers it shows on the dashboard but have never put up a follow button, trust me I'm not the most tech savvy person out there. Hope the house sells quick for you.
